The National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA) is a government of India program that guarantees 100 days of unskilled manual work to rural households every financial year. The program is implemented by the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD).
One of the key components of the NREGA is the use of digital signatures. Digital signatures are used to authenticate documents and transactions related to the program. They help to ensure the security and integrity of these documents and transactions.
To enroll in NREGA digital signature, visit the nearest CSC (Common Service Centre). You will need to provide the following documents:
- Your Aadhaar card
- Your PAN card
- A passport-size photograph
- A recent bank statement
Once you have enrolled, you will be issued a digital signature certificate (DSC). The DSC is a USB token that contains your digital signature.
To configure your DSC, install the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) on your computer. You can download the JRE from the Oracle website.
Once the JRE is installed, you must open the Java Control Panel. To do this, go to Control Panel > Java.
In the Java Control Panel, go to the Security tab. In the Allowed Sites list, add the following URL:
Click OK to save your changes.
You can now use your DSC to sign documents and transactions related to the NREGA.
Here are some additional tips for configuring your DSC:
- Make sure that you are using the latest version of the JRE.
- Do not disable Java security.
- Keep your DSC safe and secure.
If you have problems configuring your DSC, you can contact the CSC where you enrolled.
